Adoption Counselor (Full Time) - CLOSED
SUMMARY:
The Adoption Counselor position is responsible for adoptions and placements of animals and other front office procedures.
ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Processes adoptions and explains in detail the policies and procedures of MADACC
- Enters adoption information into the MADACC database
- Maintains a pleasant and courteous manner with the perspective adopters without being judgmental. MADACC practices open adoptions
- Maintains a professional working relationship with foster volunteers
- Responsible for adoptions, ensuring quality customer service and accurate record keeping
- Maintains internet websites to reflect daily availability of animals, including detailed biographies and appealing animal photographs.
- Provides high quality customer service to people who visit or call MADACC.
- Responsible for showing animals for adoption, performing dog to dog meet and greets when necessary, answering phones, and greeting the public coming into the shelter.
- Other duties as assigned
- Assists Outcomes Coordinator as required in placement of animals to rescue, foster care, or other adoption programs
- Ensure positive public relations and customer service practices
- Training volunteer adoption counselors
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

Client Service Representative (Full Time) - CLOSED
Responsibilities
Client Service Representatives are responsible for: Providing courteous professional customer service to clients via telephone and at the shelter, accurately receive information regarding the pick-up of stray, seized or abandoned animals; dispatch information regarding the pick-up of an animal in a timely manner to officers in the field; accurately complete lost and found animal reports; assist clients at the shelter and/or via telephone in the recovery of their lost pet; perform general filing as needed; prepare letters of notification to known pet owners of animals impounded at the shelter; maintain animal bite case logbook; trace owner information via tags, microchip, etc.; prepare all necessary paperwork for the redemption of an animal; work with local veterinarian clinics, police, sheriff, health departments, City and Village Treasurer’s offices; provide accurate data entry; collect all appropriate fees pertaining to the redemption of an animal; prepare and maintain all licensing records; assist clients in the use of live animal trap; provide general guidance and advice; provide minimal animal handling.

Veterinary Technician (Full Time and Part Time) - CLOSED
Responsibilities

Veterinary Assistant (Full Time and Part Time) - CLOSED
Responsibilities
Responsible for the care and general health of the animals housed in the shelter including daily husbandry, biosecurity, enrichment, behavior and medical monitoring and assisting with adoptions and transfers to rescue groups.
- – Follow and maintain organizational biosecurity and health protocols during daily cleaning and disinfecting of animal areas, equipment, and supplies for the animals and common spaces
- – Handle dogs, cats and other animals of all sizes, ages, temperaments and needs safely and appropriately
- – Practice excellent husbandry for all animals by providing appropriate housing, food, water, bedding, toys and other enrichment daily
- – Assist with public animal adoption meet and greets with clients
- – Assist veterinarians and veterinary technicians with animals including restraint for administering tests or treatments, including euthanasia when warranted, administering daily medication to animals, and health monitoring of animals each day
- – Provide courteous customer service when escorting the public through the shelter and with rescue groups coming to pick up transfer animals

**NEW** Certified Vet Technician (Full Time or Part Time) - OPEN
Responsibilities
Want to be part of making change for the animals in Milwaukee County? Become part of our community low-cost spay/neuter program! We are looking for someone with some veterinary surgical experience to work in our high volume spay/neuter clinic 3-4 days a week. Daily duties involve setting up the surgery area and checking in patients, pulling up and administering IM pre-medications, assisting veterinarian with pre-op examinations, logging controlled drugs, assisting with induction, especially including restraint of animals during induction, prepping animals for surgery, anesthetic monitoring while multitasking, preparing for next animal, recovering and extubating animals, cleaning instruments, wrapping packs, clean up and other miscellaneous surgery suite duties, discharging patients as needed, administering vaccinations, microchips, and drawing blood for heartworm or felv/fiv testing, and keeping a clean and sterile environment and understanding the importance of disinfection and cross contamination in a shelter environment. This position has the potential to be permanent. Hours are early morning to early afternoon, normally.
